Gerard M. Williams grew up immersed in the rich musical heritage of North Carolina. As a versatile performer, he has lent his voice to styles ranging from choral and classical to jazz and gospel. A Brightleaf Music Scholar and member of the Spotlight Cabaret Singers, Gerard went on to study at Berklee College of Music, where he also had the opportunity to perform internationally.
His talent and dedication have earned him numerous accolades, including acting and singing awards, and a Broadway World Regional Nomination for both Best Actor in a Musical and Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Gerard has shared the stage with some of the industry’s top talents, opening doors to perform and inspire audiences worldwide. As a songwriter, Gerard released his debut album Joy Cometh, which has been streamed and purchased globally, touching and uplifting listeners around the world. He also served as a music administrator and worship leader at his church in Durham, NC.
Gerard’s theatrical credits include national tours of The Color Purple (Broadway National Tour), My Fair Lady (Lincoln Center’s First National Tour), TINA the Tina Turner Musical(First National Tour) and STEM the Musical. Additional stage productions include over 17 regional productions like Oh What a Holy Night, Ragtime, The Scottsboro Boys, Once on This Island, Sister Act, Soul Man, A Motown Christmas, Tom and Huck, Dreamgirls, Memphis, Annie, Slappin’ God in the Face, Black Nativity, Zuccotti Park, Jesus Christ Superstar, Assassins, The Marriage, and Sister Act. On screen, Gerard appeared on The CW’s The Originals, was featured on the 2019 soundtrack of the film Canal Street, and worked on a pilot episode with Director Robert Townsend staring Lillias White. He has also performed as a principal Entertainer with Celebrity Cruises.
